All three. We install new courts from bare ground, resurface older courts that have worn or cracked but still sit on a solid base, and repair localized damage before it spreads across the surface. With over 50 years paving Calgary and Southern Alberta, we will assess your court on site and tell you honestly which of the three it needs.

We excavate and prepare the area, grade it to the correct slope, then install and compact a gravel base before laying and rolling hot mix asphalt. The base and the grade are what decide whether the court plays true and drains properly, so that is where the care goes. Once the asphalt has cured, the surface is ready for markings.

A good court is level to play on but not perfectly flat. It carries a slight, consistent slope so water sheets off instead of pooling, because standing water ruins play and, in our freeze-thaw cycles, works into the surface and cracks it. Getting that grade right during construction is the difference between a court that lasts and one that needs work in a few seasons.

Yes. Line painting is one of our services, so your court can come back ready to play rather than just paved. We can lay out markings for tennis, basketball, pickleball, road hockey, or several sports sharing the same surface. Markings go on once the asphalt has cured enough to hold them properly.

Single-court projects come together fairly quickly once site prep begins, though the timeline depends on excavation, site access, and the size of the build. Fresh asphalt needs time to cure before markings go down and before regular play starts, and we will give you clear dates for both. A full timeline comes with your quote.

Very little, which is a big part of why asphalt is the popular choice for courts. Keep the surface clean and draining, fill cracks as soon as they appear, and refresh the line markings when they start to fade. Handling the small things early is what keeps you from needing a full resurfacing later.

Paving season here runs from spring through fall, and asphalt needs warm, dry, stable weather to compact and cure the way it should. Late spring through early fall gives the best results and leaves room to get markings down before the weather turns. The season is short and fills up, so plan ahead if you want the court ready for summer.
