Asphalt Driveway Paving
Resurfacing your asphalt surface increases the lifespan and appearance of your driveway, parking lot, and residential/commercial areas. When done correctly, asphalt resurfacing will eliminate any cracks and unevenness on your surface. When patching and repair work is not sufficient, a complete resurfacing is required in order to repair the flaws in your asphalt.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in an asphalt driveway paving project?
A driveway is only as good as what sits under it. We remove or prepare the existing surface, grade the site so water drains away from your home, install and compact a gravel base, then lay and roll hot mix asphalt. Most of the real work happens in the base, because that is what determines how long the driveway lasts.
Do you pave acreage driveways and long country lanes?
Yes. We pave all sizes of driveways, including large acreages, whether it is a lane leading to your front door or an access road serving a commercial property. With over 50 years paving Calgary and Southern Alberta, we have the crews and the equipment to handle long rural runs and tight access.
Can you pave over my existing gravel driveway?
Often yes, and it is one of the most common requests we get on acreages. The gravel has to be graded, shaped for proper drainage, and compacted first, and in some cases we add base material to bring it up to spec. If the ground underneath is soft or holds water, we correct that before any asphalt goes down.
Why do grading and drainage matter so much on a Calgary driveway?
Water is the biggest threat to asphalt in our climate. When water sits on the surface or works its way underneath, our freeze-thaw cycles let it expand and lift, and that is what cracks and heaves a driveway. Grading every project so water runs off and away is the single best thing we can do for its lifespan.
How thick should my asphalt driveway be?
It depends on what the driveway has to carry. A standard residential driveway needs less depth than an acreage lane that sees RVs, farm equipment, or delivery trucks. We look at your soil, drainage, and expected traffic on site, then spec the base and asphalt thickness that will actually hold up.
How long does a driveway or acreage paving project take?
Most residential driveways are finished within a day or two once prep begins, depending on how much excavation is involved. Acreage lanes take longer based on length, site access, and material hauling. You will get a clear timeline with your quote, and we work to finish on time and on budget.
When can I drive and park on my new driveway?
You can usually walk on it within a few hours and drive on it after roughly 24 to 48 hours, depending on the weather. Asphalt keeps hardening for several weeks, so early on avoid sharp turns, turning your wheels while stopped, and leaving trailers, jack stands, or heavy loads parked in one spot on hot days. Your crew lead will confirm exact timing for your project.
When is the best time of year to pave a driveway in Calgary?
Paving season here runs from spring through fall. Warm, dry, stable weather lets asphalt compact and cure the way it should, so late spring through early fall gives the best results. Our season is short and the schedule fills quickly, so it pays to book early.
How much does driveway or acreage paving cost?
Every property is different, so we price each project individually. Cost comes down to square footage or lane length, how much excavation and haul-away is required, the condition of the base, grading and drainage work, asphalt thickness, and site access. How do I care for my new driveway, and how long will it last?
Built on a sound base and looked after, an asphalt driveway will give you many years of service. Keep water draining away from it, fill cracks as soon as they appear, clean up fuel and oil spills quickly, and reseal periodically. In winter, avoid dragging metal shovel blades or plow edges directly across the surface.
